Summary of Workers' Compensation Coverage

1. Workers' Compensation Coverage - The CSJVRMA will provide coverage for workers' compensation losses incurred under the Workers' Compensation Law but not for more than the limits of coverage.

2. Employer's Liability Coverage - The CSJVRMA will provide coverage for workers' compensation losses incurred under the Workers' Compensation Law but not for more than the limits of coverage.

SUMMARY OF POOLED WORKERS' COMPENSATION PROGRAM

The Pooled Workers' Compensation Program provides coverage in excess of various limits retained by the members. The various retained limits are $10,000, $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, and $200,000. The Memorandum of Coverage includes coverage for Workers' Compensation and Employer's Liability.

Statutory limits are offered, which is structured as follows:

The CSJVRMA retains the first $500,000 of each accident for workers' compensation and employer's liability and shares the risk among the members.

The Local Agency Workers' Compensation Excess Joint Powers Authority (LAWCX), an excess workers' compensation joint powers authority, shares the risk of the CSJVRMA with other primary joint powers authorities and self-insured government agencies. LAWCX offers its members the option of a $150,000, $250,000, $350,000, $500,000, or $1,000,000 retained limit. 

California  State Association of Counties Excess Insurance Authority (CSAC-EIA) provides the insurance purchased by LAWCX for its members in excess of LAWCX's retained limits. CSAC-EIA provides limits of $300,000,000 in workers' compensation.
