General Liability

CSJVRMA provides third-party coverage to its members for civil liabilities to individuals due to bodily injury or property damage allegedly caused by member city and/or employees. CSJVRMA retains the first $1,000,000 of coverage less each city’s retained limit. Liability claims are handled by our third-party claims administrator, AIMS. CSJVRMA provides errors & omissions coverage to the decision-makers of the city for alleged mistakes in the decision-making process while acting on behalf of the city and the CSJVRMA.

Workers' Compensation Coverage

We provide coverage for workers’ compensation losses incurred under the State of California Workers’ Compensation Law and Statutes and within the limits of program coverage. CSJVRMA claims are handled by our third-party claims administrator, AIMS.

The Pooled Workers’ Compensation Program provides coverage in excess of various limits retained by the members. The various retained limits are $10,000, $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, $200,000, and $500,000. CSJVRMA retains the first $500,000 of each loss for workers’ compensation and employer’s liability and shares the risk among the members.  For more information about this program, as well as additional layers of excess coverage in place, please contact our staff.

Property

This is an optional program providing “all-risk” coverage for real and personal property of the city and includes some coverage for property of others while in the care custody, and control of the city. In most cases, the coverage provides replacement cost valuations, i.e. cost of replacement without reduction for depreciation.

The Property Program includes both pooled and purchased coverage. A member city can participate in the pool and select a $5,000 or $10,000 deductible. Member cities that want a higher deductible can attach directly to the purchased coverage which has a $25,000 deductible.

Auto Physical Damage (APD) Program

This optional program provides repair or replacement coverage for city-owned vehicles with replacement values over $25,000. The APD Program includes both pooled and purchased coverage. A member city can participate in the pool and select a $2,000 deductible or attach directly to the purchased excess insurance with a $10,000 deductible. For more information about this Program, as well as additional layers of excess coverage in place, please contact our staff. Low Value Vehicle Coverage Program (LVVCP)

This coverage is for members and provides repair or actual cash value for participating member cities’ vehicles valued less than $25,000. This Program is a non-equity pooled program and has a $500 deductible. A participating member city is required to include its entire fleet of vehicles (unless separately declared under the Auto Physical Damage Program).

Once a city has paid four years of premiums into this program, no additional premium is charged for this coverage.  Member Cities that need to report a claim can use the button below.

Employment Practices Liability

CSJVRMA is a member of the Employment Risk Management Authority (ERMA) which is a statewide joint powers authority designed to provide broad coverage and tailored loss prevention services to reduce employment practices liability exposure.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The EAP is a mandatory program in which all member cities must participate unless they have received an exemption from the CSJVRMA Executive Committee. The EAP provides clinical,  short-term counseling; various online services; and critical incident debriefing through Halcyon.

Additional Programs Offered

Business Travel Accident Program – The Business Travel Accident Program is an optional group purchased insurance. The program provides Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage for business-related travel. The available benefit levels are $100,000, $150,000, $250,000, and $500,000. Member cities can choose various benefit levels for selected employees.

Difference in Conditions Program – This program provides coverage for earthquake damage and/or flood damage and is an optional program. The limits of coverage (per occurrence and in the aggregate) are the value of the property as reported by each member, or $5,000,000, whichever is less.

Alliant Crime Insurance Program (ACIP) – ACIP is an optional program which covers loss of money, securities, or other property resulting from dishonest acts of an employee or failure of a covered employee to perform duties as prescribed by law. The program includes coverage for elected/appointed officials, treasurer/tax collector, and other employees/volunteers required to be bonded. The limits of coverage options are $1 million, $3 million, $5 million, or $10 million.
